How it works

From a confusing letter to a calm reply

  1. Take a photo

Snap the letter — from an authority, your health insurance, your landlord or a company asking for money.

  2. Understand it in your language

You get a plain explanation: what it is, who sent it, what you must do and the deadline — plus a polite German reply you can adapt.

  3. Never miss the deadline

Save the letter and Klarineo reminds you on your phone before the date — your saved letters stay on your device.

  4. Learn the German behind it

The key phrases from your letter become your daily review, and you can practise the follow-up call or appointment by speaking.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is Klarineo?

Klarineo is a mobile app for newcomers in Germany. You photograph a German letter, and the app explains in your language what it is, who sent it, what you have to do and by when. It suggests a polite reply in German, reminds you of the deadline and turns the key phrases into short daily lessons and speaking practice.

Which letters can Klarineo explain?

Typical letters from the Jobcenter, Finanzamt, Ausländerbehörde, Bürgeramt, the Rundfunkbeitrag (Beitragsservice), your Krankenkasse, your landlord, as well as payment reminders (Mahnung) and Inkasso letters. You can also photograph other everyday German documents.

Which languages does Klarineo support?

The app interface is available in English, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic and Uzbek. Explanations of your letters can be given in many more languages.

Is Klarineo free?

Yes, there is a free plan. Klarineo Pro is an optional subscription ; new subscribers can get a free trial where the store offers it. Prices are shown in the App Store or Google Play for your country, and you can cancel at any time in your store account settings.

Can I rely on the explanation?

Klarineo uses AI and can make mistakes. Always check the original letter, especially names, amounts and dates. Klarineo gives general information, not legal or tax advice. For important matters, contact the sender or a free counselling service such as the Migrationsberatung für erwachsene Zuwanderer (MBE).

What happens to the photos of my letters?

The photo is sent to Google's Gemini model via Firebase / Vertex AI only to create your explanation. It is not used to train AI models. We do not store your letters on our servers — letters you save stay on your phone.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use Klarineo without registering, without a password and without giving us your email address.

How does the speaking practice work?

You choose a situation — for example calling the Jobcenter, an appointment at the Ausländerbehörde, the doctor or your landlord — and talk to an AI partner. You get corrections and better phrasing. Speech recognition uses your phone's built-in speech service.

How do I learn the German from my letters?

Key phrases from your letters are added to a spaced-repetition review, so you see them again just before you would forget them. A daily goal and streak help you keep going.

Is Klarineo connected to the Jobcenter or other authorities?

No. Klarineo is an independent app by TIYN ZAYTUN LLC and is not affiliated with any German authority, insurer or company.
